Garlic
During the gardening season of 2014 we decided that it was time to add garlic to our selection of vegetables in the garden, so in the fall around October we purchase 5 different varieties from Big Johns Garden – Organic Garlic and Shallots. The varieties we decided to try were.
1- Music 1/4 lb – gave us 15 ind cloves
2- Inchelium Red 1/4 lb – 23 ind cloves
3- Lorz Italian 1/4 lb – 26 ind cloves
4- Chesnok Red 1/4 lb – 36 ind cloves
5- Nootka Rose 1/4 lb 42 ind cloves
January 2015 – Here is a picture of our garlic bed during winter buried in snow. The little wooden stakes section off the five different varieties planted.
March 2015 – Here you can see that the snow is starting to melt and we can see the garlic shoots starting to come out of the ground. We should be able to harvest sometime around the end of June.

The garlic tips are starting to go brown, we will be harvesting as soon as 50% of the green tip has turned brown.
End of June and Early July finally harvest time !
