Sun Flowers

We love sunflowers, what more can we say.

Mrs Gonzales is from Kansas and sunflowers just happening to be the state flower and so it is a joy to be able to plant them for her.

Sunflowers just brighten up a yard and since we have a big yard we plant lots of them. Every year we save more and more seeds and have plenty to plant all over. Sunflowers are so beneficial in that they attract the bee’s that pollinate our vegetables and fruit trees as well as bring in the doves and many different species of birds and wildlife. The squirrels spend more time trying to get at the sunflower seeds and leave our veggies alone.

We are looking forward to taking some great sunflower pictures this year. We have planted many varieties this year and as of today June 10, 2015 they are starting to pop up and will soon brighten up our yard with there beautiful colors. It doesn’t hurt that sunflower seeds are just plain good to eat also.
